The Curly Girl Method is a philosophy of curl care built around gentle, moisture-first techniques. Instead of fighting frizz with heat and harsh product, it works with your hair's natural pattern, protecting the cuticle and keeping curls properly hydrated so they can do what they do best.
Curly hair is naturally more prone to dryness than straight hair, so getting the balance of moisture and the right products right makes an enormous difference. Done well, curls should feel soft, defined and genuinely low maintenance, not like a daily battle.
What to Expect in Your Appointment
Because Curly Girl Method services use specialised cutting and styling techniques, we allow longer appointment times than a standard cut. Your service moves through four key stages, cleanse, condition, styling and drying, each tailored to your curl type and how your hair responds on the day.
As a Kérastase Partner Salon, we use Kérastase and Clever Curl products throughout your service, and can run a KScan scalp analysis so we understand exactly what your curls and scalp need before recommending a homecare routine.

What is the Curly Girl Method?
It is a curl care approach that avoids harsh sulphates, silicones and heat styling in favour of gentler cleansing, deep conditioning and air or diffuse drying techniques that protect your natural curl pattern.
How is a Curly Girl Method appointment different from a normal cut?
We cut curl by curl, generally while the hair is dry or partially dry, so we can see exactly how each curl falls before committing to length or shape. Combined with the longer appointment time, this gives a far more accurate result than cutting curly hair wet, which is the standard approach for straight styles.
How often should I book a Curly Girl Method service?
Most guests find every eight to twelve weeks keeps their curl shape and health on track, though this varies depending on your curl type, growth rate and how you are caring for your hair between visits. We will recommend a schedule at your first appointment.
Will the Curly Girl Method work for my curl type?
Yes. The method flexes to suit everything from loose waves through to tight coils. Because our stylists work with curls personally, we tailor the technique and product choice to your specific pattern rather than applying a one size fits all approach.
